So It's a bit premature to compare her with Sridevi, though I do rate her as one of the best prospects for the future. But I was somewhat disappointed when I saw her in Ram Lakhan The Tezaab magic wasn't quite there. I called her up the same night to congratulate her. I had signed on Sridevi for Chandni, because she looked the central character, but I wasn't sure she would perform as well as Rekha. She seemed to be obsessed with copying Amitabh.
I saw Rekha in Khoon Bhari Maang, but I wasn't impressed. She is far superior to all her contemporaries. People come to see her even if the film is not up to the mark As an actress she is one of the best we've ever had. She's the only heroine who commands a sustained fan-following.
